I would like to share a new book with you this week, Learning to Feel Good and Stay Cool by Judith M. Glasser, Ph.D and Kathleen Nadeau, Ph.D.
This kid-friendly book is filled with great emotional regulation tools for kids with ADHD. As the authors write in the introduction, “For kids with ADHD, managing feels can be even more challenging than it is for other kids. Kids with ADHD tend to experience feelings more intensely than other kids do. When their feelings are very strong, it can be harder for them to control how they behave.” From understanding feelings to feel good tools, this book covers all the basics and more! Those of us who support kids with emotional dysregulation need to pay attention to this resource! The text is accompanied by great illustrations which are sure to grab your child’s attention, which is difficult for so many children with ADHD.
