The groundbreaking research study on ADHD coaching for college students was published in 2010, providing solid evidence that ADHD coaching, using the JST Coaching Model, is an effective intervention for college students with ADHD. The research team from Wayne State University is an expert in the field of self-determination and I am pleased to share that David R. Parker, Sharon Field and Alan Hoffman have published the second edition of Self-Determination Strategies: Case Studies of Adolescents in Transition (2013)
The case studies provide insight into the issues facing young people during transitions, from middle to high school and high school to postsecondary education. We all know that, for adolescents and young adults with ADHD/EF/LD, transitions can be exceptionally challenging. Through the use of their self-determination model, detailed strategies to support self-determination and the in-depth case studies, the authors provide us with a clearer perspective of the issues facing adolescents in transition while providing solid strategies for success. I highly recommend this publication to coaches, educators, mental health professionals and parents.
